In 2023, Allegion celebrated our 10th year as an independent company, closing out the year with record financial results. Throughout the year, we demonstrated our commitment to building on our legacy, operating with excellence, being the partner of choice and delivering new value in access — and for that, our products, teams and employees earned a host of awards and recognition.

We’re grateful for the individuals who work hard every day to deliver seamless access and a safer world across the globe. Here’s a detailed look at the awards and achievements of 2023.

Individual achievements and industry leadership

Several of our employees were recognized by various organizations for being top or emerging leaders in their areas of expertise. Our employees are invaluable to Allegion, and we know their contributions to both our company and the industry play a huge role in supporting our mission of pioneering safety.

Rob Martens, Allegion’s senior vice president and chief innovation and design officer, was named to Constellation Research’s Business Transformation 150 (BT150), an elite list of executives leading business transformation efforts around the globe. The 2023 focus was on executives who are harnessing disruptive technologies to drive innovation. Nominations come from peers, industry influencers, technology vendors and analysts.

Digital leaders like Rob have been at the forefront of developing strategies for leveraging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI to enhance their impact. Those chosen for the BT150 list are “stand-out exemplars” of innovation, an effective digital mindset and the ability to guide organizations through uncertain times.

Led by Tracy Kemp, Allegion’s chief information and digital officer, Allegion’s Information Technology (IT) organization has developed a number of programs in line with the goals of the Mission41K initiative that expand talent pools, including skills-based hiring, an adult apprenticeship program and a “bench role” program that gives tech talent the opportunity to rotate through different IT disciplines.

GlobeSt, a leading commercial real estate news and property resource, named Allegion’s Robert Gaulden one of the top leaders in the U.S. multifamily space. The short list identifies teams and companies that have “made their mark” on the multifamily industry by not only fielding common issues, but also figuring out how to solve them and thrive in what the author says has become a difficult market environment.

Robert, Allegion’s go-to-market director of multifamily access, developed a strategy, channels and PropTech partnerships for the multifamily market centered on the role of technology in delivering holistic experiences for all users — owners, developers, property managers and residents, the author notes. He played an integral role in our 2023 launch of Zentra, a new brand focused on multifamily access solutions created to provide simple, smart and secure property access using a single software platform. Robert also hosts “Solving for Multifamily,” Allegion’s ongoing podcast that addresses pain points and use cases in the multifamily industry.
