Conflict Minerals Background

SEC rules require annual disclosure of certain information when a public company manufactures or contracts to manufacture products that contain “conflict minerals” that may have originated in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (“DRC”) and its adjoining countries (the “Covered Countries”).

The term “conflict minerals” refers to the mineral precursors of the metals tantalum, tin, tungsten, and gold (also known as “3TGs”), which are found in small amounts in nearly all electronic products.

Allegion Policy

Allegion is committed to conducting business fairly and ethically, with respect for human rights and in compliance with all laws and regulations. We are committed to responsible sourcing of 3TGs across our global supply chain.

Allegion expects its suppliers to source 3TGs responsibly. Suppliers are expected to establish responsible sourcing policies, survey their suppliers, and establish a due diligence process to support their data collection efforts.

Allegion Conflict Minerals Program Overview

Allegion integrates conflict mineral due diligence measures in alignment with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas. For supplier data collection, Allegion utilizes the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) to survey suppliers.  The standard template is developed and maintained by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI), which is an initiative of the Responsible Business Alliance.  We encourage our suppliers to incorporate best practices from OECD and RMI.
