Allegion products make career path academy safe and secure

Allegion played a major role in the security features of one of Arizona's newest high schools, Eastmark, on a campus that's anything but ordinary. Queen Creek Unified School District, where Eastmark High School resides, has strong ties to Allegion, which allowed the Allegion team to be involved in every part of the 24 month-build.

The project required close collaboration between the architect and the Allegion sales team. The 153,000-square-foot facility combines minimalist design, bright and airy space and the security and durability of Allegion products for aesthetics and functionality. The modern educational space features products from Allegion's Von Duprin, LCN, Glenn Johnson, IVES, ZERO, Schlage and Overtur brands.

"The bright airy design, glass walls, lounging areas and classrooms with learning stations were designed to incorporate the 21st-century style of learning," said Eastmark Principal Paul Gagnon in a published news release.

The high school itself operates under Career Path Academies. Students enroll in one of the four academies: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM); Medical and Social Health (MASH); Business, Leadership and International Studies (BLIS); or Fine Arts and Media Entertainment (FAME). This strategic learning module ties what students learn into careers that interest them. The school prides itself on its wall-to-wall career path academy model. The website for the school states, "After high school, students might choose to head off to college or begin employment right after graduation. When students enroll in a Career Academy, they have the opportunity to earn college credit and even industry certification, giving them a headstart in college or making them more employable as they begin a career."

Allegion products help create a safe and secure space for students, says Allegion Project Sales Manager Jim Jensen.  "Queen Creek Unified School District has always been a huge supporter of Allegion products from the Schlage key systems and door hardware to the access control credentials and readers. All of my children attended QCUSD so I have a vested interest in making a secure learning environment for them and the rest of the students. QCUSD is one of the fastest-growing school districts in Arizona and I'm proud to be part of that growth as a parent as well as from a security standpoint."
